The prayers of the saints, like a thermometer, test the health of the church. When prayer is warm the heart is warm, and when prayer languishes or grows cold and formal, there is a dropsy chilling the very heart of the fellowship. Only tell me that a church does not pray; you have said enough; I know all the rest.
