Christ Loses None
“If Christ should lose his people, he would be a head without a body; that were a ghastly sight. Nay, if he lost one of his people, he would be the head of a mutilated body—not a glorious sight. If you imagine the loss of one mystical member of Christ, you must suppose an imperfect Christ—one whose fullness is not full, whose glory is not glorious, whose completeness is not complete.”
Absolutely! This is such a powerful reminder of the faithfulness and sovereignty of Christ. Indeed, Jesus never loses a single one of His children, for He is the Good Shepherd who lays down His life for the sheep (John 10:28-29). Every believer is precious to Him, and nothing can separate us from His love (Romans 8:38-39). Thinking of Christ as “complete” and glorious reminds us that His work of salvation is perfect and enduring (Colossians 2:9-10). As we walk in faith, we can rest assured that our Savior holds us securely, cares deeply for each of His followers, and will bring us safely to eternal glory. Let this truth encourage us to trust Him fully, remain steadfast in prayer, and live faithfully, knowing that His body, the Church, is held together by His unfailing love (Ephesians 4:15-16).
Even when we face trials, doubts, or moments of weakness, Christ’s grip on us never falters. He strengthens us, comforts us, and draws us closer to Himself through every circumstance (Isaiah 41:10, 2 Corinthians 12:9-10). May we also encourage one another as members of His body, lifting each other up in love and prayer, and serving faithfully so that His glory is displayed through us (Hebrews 10:24-25). Lord, help us to rest fully in Your protection, walk boldly in Your truth, and never forget that in You, we are secure, cherished, and complete.
