His Name Stands Above Them All

This past Sunday at church, we sang one of my favorite worship songs, Holy Forever. While praising the Lord, I began to meditate on these words:

“Your name is the highest
Your name is the greatest
Your name stands above them all
All thrones and dominions
All powers and positions
Your name stands above them all”

My meditation and mental arrangement of names began to form. I thought of God’s name(s):

YHWH¹ ~ Father, Son, Spirit ~ God ~ Jesus ~ Helper ~ El Shaddai (God Almighty) ~ El Roi (God Who Sees) ~ El Olam (The Everlasting God) ~ Helper ~ Alpha & Omega ~ and more

And then I thought of the names God stands above:

What a reason to praise his name! He is great and greatly to be praised!
